We encourage questioning, exploring different theological perspectives, and engaging in the deconstruction of theological concepts developed many centuries after the death and resurrection of Christ by patriarchal societies where the church and kings or emperors ruled side by side. In response, we read scholars that help us reform these hurtful beliefs while remaining grounded in the teachings of Jesus. We know how to take the Bible seriously but not literally because we are aware of the history of its writings and compilation. We strive to re-imagine what it means to be a follower of Jesus in our modern world.
